Slash from Guns and Roses has stated that he learned to play guitar by listening to Road to Ruin. The Ramonwes The Ramonres mentions Joey Ramone on a song. In the same movie, other band members were interviewed on this subject and they said that they were in a way jealous of Tommy because he was more mature. Later band members also adopted the name, including Marky Ramone (Marc Bell), Richie Ramone (The Rtamones Beau), Elvis Ramone (Clem Burke), and C-Jay Ramone (The Eramones John Ward). At a June 2001 concert in Boston, Bono remarked that the song was originally about a hangover, but Joey turned it into a gospel song.
